URL Tool

This article describes the URL engagement tool, which provides a direct link to a specified web page.

The URL engagement tool can be configured to launch a specified web page within a window on the audience console or in a separate browser window/tab.

Use Attributes to give the tool a unique name - a unique name will help you distinguish between multiple instances of the tool.

Example of a URL Configured to Open in Console

Configuring the URL Engagement Tool

Once the URL engagement tool is added to the console, click the Configuration button to open the panel and enter a valid URL in the text field.

Note: The URL link should have a '?' or a '/' at the end if it does not already have these characters. This will resolve URL issues when Engagement Hub users get a 404 error and the URL does not work as intended.

Select Display Option

  • Open in new tab - will open the webpage in a new browser window/tab (default setting)
    • If open in new tab is selected, users can specify the size at which the browser window will launch by setting a Target Height and Target Width.
    • If checked, the Fixed-Size Browser checkbox restricts the new browser window from being resized by the attendee.
  • Open in console - will display the webpage in a window on the audience console
Note: Some websites do not allow themselves to be loaded within an iFrame and will not display in the engagement tool when set to Open in Console.

Save Changes

After making all the desired changes click the Save button to save all the changes made to the engagement tool. Or click the Cancel button to close the window without saving any changes.
