PMXD and Elite Studio Comparison

Comparison of features in Presentation Manager XD to Elite Studio and where to locate and open the presentation tools and features.

Presentation Manager XD (PMXD)

Elite Studio

Header

Contains the Webcast Title, Start/Stop Webcast button, and timer.

Contains the Webcast Title, Event ID, timer, Start/Stop Webcast button, and other buttons/icons to initiate Screen Share, viewing of Slide Notes, Pulse Check, and a Menu to open and close other windows/tools.

Located in the Header, only visible and available to the Producer role

Located in the gray portion of the Header, to the left of the timer. Only visible and available to the Producer role.

Setup

To open the Setup window, click the first link in the Control Bar at the bottom of the PMXD interface.

The Setup Window allows you to upload slides and video clips, set up polls and URLs.

It contains three tabs to control the configuration of the Media, Polls, and URLs.

If no presentation elements have been uploaded or created, you will see an arrow icon in the Live View window prompting you to upload content. Click this arrow to upload slides, video clips and to create polls and URLs.

To open the Setup window (and Storyboard Organizer) once content has been uploaded and/or created hover over the Storyboard, and click the pencil icon. Available to the Producer role only.

Just like PMXD, the Setup Window allows you to upload slides and video clips, set up polls and URLs. Four (4) tabs are used to control the configuration of the Slides, Video Clips, Polls, and URLs.

Storyboard

Runs left to right along the upper part of the Main Window and displays thumbnails of all elements of the presentation. Use arrows to scroll through to elements not visible. 

All slides and videos uploaded into Webcast Elite or PMXD are pre-populated in the Storyboard.

Appears at the bottom of the main stage window, element thumbnails are larger than in PMXD. Multiple rows also improve the ability to see what is coming as a Presenter.

Just as in PMXD all slides and videos uploaded in Webcast Elite or Elite Studio are pre-populated in the Storyboard.

Control Bar / Menu

Runs along the bottom of PMXD and has links to open and close the presentation tools/windows. The text links will change color when opened and closed.

Within the green part of the Header at the upper right-click the Menu icon to access a menu with links to open and close the presentation tools. 

Control Panel

The Control Panel will launch automatically upon login, prompting presenters to choose a connection.

Presenters can access the Control Panel any time from the Control Panel link at the bottom of the page.

Presenters

Open the list of presenters logged in by clicking this link at the bottom of the Control Panel window.

The Presenters window can be launched from the Presenters link in the Menu. It will open locked into the right-hand/custom pane under the green portion of the Header.

Layouts

For Video Presenter Bridge webinars (Live Audio and Video with Screen Share) present type, display layouts for presenters in the Media Player can be configured by clicking Layouts at the bottom of the Control Panel.

Display layouts for presenters in the Media Player can be configured by hovering over the Media Player window and choosing from one of the three layout options displayed.

Live View 

Click the Live View link in the Control Bar to open this window. The Live View is used to share slides and other presentation elements (poll questions, URLs, etc.) during your webcast.

 

 

By default, the Live View window is open in the main stage area when first accessing Elite Studio for Producer and Presenter roles.

Slide Notes

To view slide notes that you entered into your PowerPoint prior to uploading, click the Slide Notes link at the bottom of the Live View window.

Preview

The Preview window can be opened from the link in the Control Bar at the bottom of the PMXD interface.

The Preview window can be launched from the Preview link in the Menu. It will open locked into the right-hand/custom pane under the green portion of the Header.

Q&A

By default, the Q&A window is open when accessing PMXD as a Producer, Presenter, or Q&A. 

The Q&A window can be opened using the link on the Control Bar at the bottom of the PMXD interface.

By default, the Q&A window is open locked under the right-hand panel for the Producer and Presenter roles. It is open in the main stage area for the Q&A role. 

The Q&A window can be pushed to the main stage area by clicking the icon at the upper right.

Note this will not share the Q&A window or any content with your audience.

Pulse Check

A pulse check may be initiated by clicking the Pulse Check icon at the lower left of the Live View window (light blue below).

Team Chat

By default, the Team Chat window is open when accessing PMXD as a Producer, Presenter, or Q&A. The Team Chat window can be opened from the link in the Control Bar at the bottom of the PMXD interface.

Screen Share

To begin the process of sharing your screen, click the link in the Control Bar at the bottom of the PMXD interface. If you have not installed the browser extension, you will be prompted to do so. Open the Audience View monitor on the Control Bar to confirm the screen share is active.

To begin the process of sharing your screen, click the Screen Share icon screenshare icon in the green portion of the Header at the top right of the Elite Studio interface. If you have not installed the browser extension, you will be prompted to do so.

To confirm screen share is active open the Media Player from the dropdown menu  es_slide_notes_icon.png in the upper right corner of the interface. The Media Player serves as the Audience View monitor in Elite Studio.
